New Class!

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our new teacher, Sandra Millett!!
A multifaceted author, freelancer, and stitcher, Sandra lectures about writing, quilting, the business of writing, and writes feature articles for McCall's Quilting, Threads and various national publications, teaches and lectures about quilting, and is a quilt judge. Her humor stitchery column "Needle 'n Pen" was a popular feature in the daily newspaper, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Sandra has published three quilt books. The classic, Quilt-As-You-Go, and its second edition were in print for a total of fifteen years. Her third book is titled Quilting The Savory Garden. Sandra's internationally published nonfiction book, First Peoples: The H’mong of Southeast Asia, is a lush picture/text for 10-12-year-olds.
For three years, Sandra broadcast a weekly call-in radio show about stitchery from 50,00 watt KMJ-AM, Fresno, California. She also wrote, co-produced, and starred in a television series called Needle Magic and appeared numerous times on national television.

In 1993, Sandra stepped back in time and traveled with a wagon train on the Oregon Trail. This appreciation for early emigrant quilters is translated into her historical slide lectures. Typical of her hands-on approach, she studied costumes of the ethnic mountain tribes during a trip to Hanoi, Vietnam. During a recent trip to Scotland, Sandra toured the Southern Borders area, adding international speaker to her accomplishments, lecturing to quilters in Peebles and presented two classes on needleturn applique while on a batik tour to Ball, Indonesia.

The mother of five adult children, six grandchildren, and three "perfect" great-granddaughters with a great-grandson on the way, Sandra is a retired Registered Nurse. She recently made a permanent move back to Texas and lives with her youngest son and family. She is currently working on a manuscript detailing her unique style of editing.

Sandra Millett is teaching her own pattern, 'Mother's Helper'!
