Sandy has set many New Classes!!

We have received many requests for sewing construction lessons. We are so excited here at Sandy’s because so many of you have wanted to learn to sew, not exclusively quilting.

Sewing Basics and Beyond! with Sandy
Small Projects based on different sewing techniques.  The cost includes instruction and the project pattern.  Each class will have its own supply list.  The class will be held once a month on the third Sunday or Monday afternoons. Unless there is a holiday interference.   April's was moved due to Easter.  Instruction Fee: $30.00

Pfaff Sewing Club!
First Wednesdays of the month  Time:  12-2 pm $15.00
March 5th Sandy is teaching!
Everyone is welcome and invited to join us at Pfaff Sewing Club.
This is a great opportunity to learn a new project and make friends. You do not have to own a Pfaff sewing machine to attend.
We have lectures/demos on an exciting project each month. Come see what's new at Sandy's, win door prizes, participate in a show-and-tell, and have lots of fun. You will receive a pattern for the project being demoed/lectured on.
Everyone attending will receive one door prize ticket, but if you pay at least one week in advance you will receive two tickets. We also have the Pfaff Reference Book door prize drawing for those who remember to bring their Pfaff books.

Remember to bring in your show-n-tells!  You will receive an extra door prize ticket for bringing in show-n-tells!
The cost is $15.00 per month and the Pfaff Reference Book is $10.00.

Beginner’s Piecing Class
Instructor: Sandy
Learn the basics of piecing, fabric selection, color balancing, threads, needles, rotary cutting, pressing, and more!  You must know how to use your sewing machine. If you need help learning your machine, you can schedule a one-on-one private lesson with Sandy to prepare you for this class.  This class will have homework and you must complete it before coming to class to proceed with the next instructions.

Private Lesson with Sandy
Learn your machine with a private lesson!  It is a 2-hour class and is $60.00. Please call to schedule an appointment.

March's Club Project
Go Gecko!  In the hoop Gecko Stuffy March 11th Time 10-2
Create this cute Gecko in the hoop using Vinyl, glitter vinyl, and Lycra.  The kit is 19.99 and includes the stabilizer, project pieces, and stuffing.

Do you own one of the spectacular PFAFF sewing machines? Learn all the cool things you can do with the optional feet while making samples for your book. The book is included.  Use one of our feet for each technique, then decide if you would like to purchase it.  You can also bring in the feet you already own.  We will do as many feet and techniques as time will allow.

Learn the basics of quilting a quilt!!  The class includes different quilting techniques for your machine!  This is an all-day class with a lunch break.  Please bring a lunch.

Back by popular demand!  The Big Star quilt is a great way to show off your favorite fabrics!  This is a secondary class to the Beginner's Piecing Class

Machine Applique

Create a wall hanging while learning how to use your machine's decorative stitches.  Machine Applique is a beautiful art that adds dimension and creative elements to projects.

Accuquilt Go! Starry Lattice

Give the GO! Starry Path a whole new look when combined with simple Flying Geese. The woven effect gives a whole new look to this BOB (Block On Board) die.  Die is required.

Accuquilt Go! Animals
Instructor: Sandy
Monday, April 21st  Time: 10-4
Instruction Fee: $60
Create all of the cute little animals in the kingdom just by using the GO! Owl (55333) die.   Learn how to use the Accuquilt Go! Owl die to create several different appliqued animals on a wall hanging.  The die is required.  Experiment with your machine's decorative stitches and different threads!

Foundation Paper Piecing

Instruction Fee: $60.00
Foundation Paper Piecing is a piecing technique in quilt making. The technique uses paper as a foundation to stabilize the quilt block as it is constructed. Once the quilt block is completed, the paper is removed.  You will get perfect points every time with this technique!

Fall Splender
Instructor: Sandy
Saturday, June 28th  Time: 10-4
Instruction Fee: $60
Intermediate Class.  Learn how to cut up fat quarters to create the Fall Splender quilt!  You will be required to do some cutting of the background fabric before class.  This class is a great follow-up class to the Big Star Quilt Class.  It will help you fine-tune your piecing and cutting skills.

Class guidelines: 
When you pay for a class, it reserves a space for you and you will receive the class supply list.  A one-week advance notice of your canceling your reservation is required to receive a refund or transfer.
Unless other arrangements have been made with Sandy, all class, pattern, kit, and design fees must be paid before class.  Kits will not be cut until they have been paid for.
Please do not wear perfumes or scented lotions on the day of class.  There are many among us with allergies.

Our talented technician will be here on March 2nd.   Please drop off your machine anytime between NOW and closing on March 1st.

Many common problems can be resolved with a thorough yearly cleaning.  Over time and use old lubricant, dust, and debris can clog up your machine.  We do a complete cleaning and remove all old oil, lint, and debris.  Apply new oil. Check and reset timing, clearances, and balance.  If a part is needed and is over $20, we call for approval.  No charge if we can't fix it.
